NON FOOD!! Cheap alternative to store bought Windex. I keep a spray bottle in the kitchen and in each bathroom for quick and easy mirror and counter clean ups. I wipe the mirrors with a Microfiber Towel instead of paper towel to achieve a lint free shine!

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup ammonia
- 2 cups ( 1 pint) rubbing alcohol
- 1 teaspoon liquid dishwashing soap
- 1 gallon water, up to
- 2-3 drops Blue food coloring
You will also need the following
- 3 (32 oz.) spray bottles
- 1 large container for mixing (8-qt. Stainless Mixing Bowl)
- container for storage ( I use 2 empty 2-liter soda bottles)
Directions
In 8-qt. Stainless Mixing Bowl, mix all ingredients together (Ammonia, dish soap, alcohol, water, and food coloring), adding just enough water to reach the 1 gallon mark, mix all of the ingredients together.
Pour the homemade Windex into your spray bottles using Flexible Funnels and the rest into your storage containers. I use two empty and rinsed 2-liter soda bottles.
And there you have it, your very own supply of home brew Windex for less than half the cost. Happy Cleaning!
Tips & Warnings
If you are using this mixture to wash outdoor windows it’s a good idea to use hot water to help dissolve the dirt.
You can also use this formula for your automobile windshield washer fluid.
